What is SyPlay ?
SyPlay is a Windows based software that plays encrypted video files of the type
mpn, mpx or mpy format. These formats are encrypted versions of mp4 and avi formats.
The extensions mpn, mpx and mpy are defined by Hoven Software Consultants.
What are the General Features of this
Software ?
- Fine Control over Users: An end user/client can view a video only if he has
been granted membership/online approval by the Content Administrator. Administrators
have a very fine degree of control over their video content because they can
- Set expiry date on a client’s membership.
- Set expiry date on a particular video.
- Categorize videos into three categories, and set client permissions on each category
as well. A possible scenario is where an Administrator might wish to place a premium
on certain videos, or may just mark certain videos as promotional, or perhaps make
a video film into two or three parts and mark slab-wise rates on them.
- Videos can be taken off-line any moment.
- Unique Encryption: Each video is encrypted differently.
- Anti-Screen Capture:SyPlay is secured against screen capturing. If a user
tries to perform a video recording, SyPlay detects it at the earliest and covers
the video with a warning message. Although the audio continues to play, the video
cannot be seen until the user stops the recording software. A user is allowed a
maximum of three such attempts before the play is abandoned.
- User Blacklisting:A user who attempts screen capture on 15 different occassions
is blacklisted for any further viewing. A blacklisted user can be given a fresh
lease of life only by the Administrator.
- PC Binding: A user can play videos only from the PC from where he got himself
registered. So the video content becomes non-transferrable.
- Customizable Bilboard:An Administrator can customize the message that appears
as a heading on the video player. This is useful for sending instant messages to
the users like "Happy New Year", "A new Video is Released" or like "Join our March
Course" and so on. The message can be changed as many times and as and when desired.
- LAN Support:The most compelling feature of this software is that it can be
run from a PC that doesnot have a direct access to internet. This is ideal for use
in schools/colleges where PCs are available on a LAN. Content videos can be placed
at one centralized server, and an unlimited number of clients can view them.
- C++ Based: SyPlay is based entirely on C++ and as such is tensile and free
from usual problems of .NET/Java based applications. It starts almost instantly.
- Single Click Installation, Zero Maintenance: SyPlay is a small set up that
gets installed with just a single click. As per our experience, even a novice can
install it without any hastles.
- OS Support:SyPlay and SyAdmin are supported only over the Windows based PCs
that are running on Windows XP SP2 or later versions.
